- Prioritize problems
- Assign action items and next steps
- Discuss a timeline for moving forward
How to use
Step 1: Align on a goal
Prior to the session, document your goals for the meeting. At the beginning of the meeting, run through your list of goals to achieve team alignment before jumping into problems or tasks.
Step 2: Set your agenda
Fill out the meeting agenda, including main topics for discussion and expected time frames. At the start of your discussion, review these with the team to keep everyone on track.
Step 3: Work through problems
Use the workspace box to work through your agenda. Bring references to the table, brainstorm ideas, and sketch out plans. Use this space to visualize your discussion and get everyone on the same page.
Step 4: Prioritize next steps
Use the prioritization grid when you have many ideas or problems at hand. Put each idea on a sticky, then sort them as a team into low effort vs. high effort and low reward vs. high reward.
Step 5: Assign action items
Throughout the meeting, add action items and next steps, and assign team members to each. You’ll be able to keep track of task owners after the meeting, and leave comments to check in on progress.
Step 6: Create a timeline
Sketch out how next steps will turn into long-term results by building out a timeline. Include any milestones and meetings moving forward.
Hop into this template any time in Microsoft Teams, to explore ideas with your team in real time. At the end of the process, you’ll have next steps for everyone involved, as well as meeting notes to refer back to at any time.
